So running the numbers we have a 725hp non-blower motor for around 16,000. Hypothetically, you could whipple/pro-charge it for another 7,000 and have a 1000 hp motor for 23,000.

I dont think you'de be able to whipple or procharge. the compression ratio is probably too high. I would assume somewhere around 9.5:1
And yes..any decent HP marine mechanic can dress the motor for you. But I would see if the motor builder can quote you on a complete drop in package.

I think the 572s are new blocks. if you requested a new block, it should only add about 500 to 750 to that number. A brand new bare block is around $1,900 before honing and decking
