Sanibel Boating
I have been vacationing in sanibel for about 4 years now and will finally drag the boat down with me this time. I have a 19.5 foot boat with a moderate v (19 degrees or so). The water around there looks pretty tame to me. Can anyone suggest destinations for me? I will launch from the public ramp just off the causeway on the island.
Thanks in advance!

Tween Waters is a great place. North end of Captiva, They have a great pool, tiki bar, good eats and some good looking bikinis. Green Flash, right before tweenies has great food, view of the intercoastal and cocktails, From there walk north to downtown and visit, shop etc. Great restaurants there as well.
Boca Grande Just north and as was mentioned previously, Cabbage key. Put on your dirnking shoes.
lots of places just hard to find.
Fort Myers Beach area has Mantanzas, Snug Harbor, Salty Sam's, the Bridge (Sunday afternoons), Channel Mark and many more.
Good luck and stay between the markers!

Be sure to hit Grandma Dot's at Sanibel, best grouper sandwich in the world. Grab a cruising guide and go through it a little, it tells of a lot of these places already mentioned. Don't let the Gulf fool you, it can be glass, or it can be really rough. Have a great time.

Just got back from Sanibel/Captiva yesterday. I would agree with Cabbage Key being the best local stop.
"Tween Waters", has a great Marina, "pool bar", and a live band every night except Monday in the "Crows Nest" lounge.

If anybody is looking to get together on Sunday the 22nd. We are going to have a little rally ( albeit mostly Nor-Techs) and head from Cape Coral to Burnt Store Marina. We'll be at the mouth of the Caloosahatchee about 1:00. PM me or call me if you want to join in.
