Initially, there were shifting issues with the Bmaxes. One would hang in forward, and the other would "bang" going into forward.
Then the lowers about fell off after a fairly hard run Broken studs on both sides, and of course lube loss. Lowers were actually just barely hanging on by 2 remaining fasteners. Could wiggle them side to side by hand. Could pull open a visible gap with your hands between the uppers and lowers.
Then after fitting them with HP studs, we ran a poker run with them "fresh" back from the BShop with a thumbs-up to go for it. On the last leg we let it eat for the 6 miles back to the dock. Smelled gear oil. Went to idle and one wouldn't come out of gear very easily. I crawled back and looked - one side was blowing gray lube everywhere in the engine compartment.
Put her on the trailer and both propshaft bearing sets were toast. One loose, the other one was a complete goner. Back to BShop. I expect that to be a setup issue in the drives, but it's definitely getting old...
Got 2 hours on them testing motor stuff so far.
No issues yet. Fingers crossed (except for the middle one which is fully extended).

I bought a set of props from a guy in Conn. who pulled the BMax drives off his Talon 37 and replaced them with sixes.
He said " The B Max drives did not work well as surface piercing drives on his cat."
I forgot how many he said he broke, but they just did hold up for him and he was running Merc 575s.
Just an FYI.

Shawn:
I am realy happy with all of my dial in efforts and the Kilo Run record we st with the boat this fall at the PRA
event in Little Washington, NC.
Boat only has 138 HRS on it so rebuilds are down the road a bit.
Just exploring the possibilites for the future. Maybe I'll get some ideas at the Miami Boat show later this week.
Are going?
