There used to be a big Aluminum Vee Cougar on Lake George, NY with 4 Johnson V-8's. It was moored in front of a home near mine and when I was in early high school I remember riding my jet ski up next to it and it was funny to listen to the boing boing boing when the waves splashed up against it.

Chris Freihofer had several over the years that were mainly stored and maintained at Keith Hazel's harbor One Marina in Ft. Lauderdale. One of the more famous one's were called COOKIE MONSTER and Jaque's are Wild after his wife Jacqueline. (he owned a big baking company) Then he had one built not too long ago with diesels and Buzzi drives. It was WILD CARD and could be found from time to time on the poker run circuit. It too was primarily kept in Florida with his current wife's ex-husband Bob Shear of Shear Terror fame. In the poker runs, Bob Shear would haul the boat to the runs, maintain it year round, throttle it in the runs, Chris would drive and Bob's son Clint, whom Chris adopted would navigate. Now THAT'S a set up huh? Hey, it worked well for them so it was cool. Unfortunately they were never able to get the boat to run the way they hoped and he subsequently sold it.

I saw the one with diesels and surface drives for sale on Yachtworld a while ago. It had a much different deck profile than the earlier models. Would have loved to have it, I think diesels and surface drives would be the ultimate durable configuration.

Brownie,, might be a dumb question but what was causing the cats to sink, wrecks or structual problem and do you know how many cats were built,, just wondering how many might be out there... I have only seen 2 for sale, the one in post 17 and there was refurbished yellow cat on ebay about a year ago
