"Stuff" in Offshore Boats
I would like your opinion on all the shi...stuff people are putting in offshore boats these days.
I've become a serious minimalist in our boat after getting my clocked cleaned a few times in Florida this winter, and sure enough the one thing that I thought was superfluous in our boat broke!
I can just imagine if I would of had a DVD, a flat screen TV, a generator, a fridge, an AC units or anything of that nature it would of ended up at the bottom of the bilge in a million pieces small enough to be pumped out by the bilge.
What's the opinion of the OSO crew here. Apart from Allan4 being a putz!
I wonder if this dude had a fridge how it would of faired!!!

Depends on how you boat I guess. I do not need a lot on my boat but some do. If you properly install things like a DVD or LCD pannel they will last in a landing even on the above pictures NO PROBLEM. However most DO NOT install things properly so they have problems. Pam will not sleep on the boat but I love to.... So any time she is around we either hotel it or cabin or what ever, so there is really no need to have a lot of amenaties in the boat.

Yes, less is more, A plasma may still he hanging from the wall but it's internals are scrambled eggs. Those frigs don't get cold anyway. Is that your boat GL? I would run some 3 inch deck screws from the inside out, this will also give you a nice non skid deck from the screws sticking out.

I agree. Instead of having the fridge get an Ice chest. I am sure the Igloo won't have a problem in 6 footers.
Everything else needs to be tied town. Every time I go out and it is rough, I have a big pile o' crap waiting for me at the foot of the cabin.
