Let's just say if it gets any higher, the Minx will see more use this summer than the Formula.

It might alter some long range boating but I look at it this way, If Im burning gas Im using my boat which in turn means Im enjoying myself, and the more Im enjoying myself ,the better off I am. Just going to cost more this year

Hey Dave according to my calc thats 2.90909 mpg

The fact that it's 2+ gal might make me looks at options I've never bothered to IE ....
- Buying street gas and trucking it home.
- Investing in a few hunge gal tank at the house.
- Purchasing fuel with a Citi CC which offers 5% cash back up to $5000 in gasoline purchases. That equals $250 back in my pocket.

But it will not "keep me from boating as much as I want" Now if it hits $3 or ...... ?? it might. I don't have endless pockets. Question is what can we do about it?? RECORD profits reported at these companies and prices are still rising .05 / .10 a week ... UNfriggenREAL!

Im trailering the boat closer to ramps in the area I want to boat rather then running the 30 miles across Tpa Bay to get there. The wife overruled me this week and said she would rather spend an extra hour on the boat then in the truck. No problem here,I said. The weather was gorgeous though and that played a big part in her decision

I'm not thrilled at the prices, but lack of free time is the thing that keeps me off the water. If i could boat at will, then the gas $$ thing might make me think, but if i can get out once every 3 weeks, i'll be glad to spend the $$

Don't let Too Old vote, we all know his idea of boating doesn't involve gas or water

That is correct. My GPH figures are averages. My average is in fact 10 GPH over about 350 hours. If I recall on that trip I was traveling faster than average for most of the 160 miles. I spend most of my time at about 3500 rpm which will give me about 50 MPH. I think the gas consumtion goes up exponentialy beyond 3500 rpms.

Default Could Effect Long Trips

I may cut back on on long runs, but will not stop boating.
