You would die laughing if you saw some of the floating junk people go out into the San Pedro channel in... Some of the crap can barely run ( usually an Asian immigrant ) with fishing poles and too many people for how big the boat is. Little or no safety equipment. No radio.. No Gps.. No Phone.. I once came upon some guys floating in about a 22 ft inboard... they had gone out to Catalina to do some drinking the night before... on the way back the next morning.. their crap-boat gave out and they had bobbed in the channel all day. They didn't have a radio or cell phone.. gps, OR ANY WATER. They just figured it was only an hour back to the mainland. I think they had been out there about 7 or 8 hours.

When your rubrail sits at the water line, I would think it fairly easy to sink!

I guess Reggie gives 2 choices. Go Fast or sink.

The boat in question was a 38' Anniversary Fountain. My friend Tim (He sold the 42' fountain "Ohio Steel" recently) bought the boat new from DSM a few years ago and sold it a while ago. I think he said he was told by someone at Pfaff that a drive did break causing water to get in and partially sink the boat. From what I understand, the guy just bought the boat.
