Hampton Roads and Nothern NC over Memorial Day?
We'll be arriving at Lynnhaven Inlet around noon on Saturday and staying through the weekend in Virginia Beach. Monday morning, we'll be running down the Intracoastal down into Albemarle Sound, staying there through Wednesday, shopping for land. Look for an all-white Formula 382, with "Me, Too!" on the transom.
Who's gonna be around to show us the best spots? I figure that BillR and the HRPA guys will be around VA beach, but haven't heard from many people around the Albemarle area...

Yep - It's tied up at a friends house on the Rappahannock as we speak. Had a great trip down on Saturday. Is that trailer ready to go for our trip to the paint booth in early July?

We'll be looking for ya. As of right now, the HRPA has no weekend plans ... Yet.

We'll be looking for ya while we lurk around the Lynnhaven Inlet. There's a great spot to soak across the bay on the Easter Shore called Sunset Beach. It'a about 2-3 miles west fo the Ches Bay Bridge Tunnel. We may head there one of the days...
Other options include heading up the James River to some pretty good party stops... Maybe the RPBA bubba's will chime in on their plans too.

Cool! We will be looking to hook up with you. We have been staying close to home (Lynnhaven Inlet) the last couple of weeks while Diane's injured rib heals. Hope to stretch our legs a bit this weekend. A day trip down the intercoastal could be fun! Maybe our club social coordinator, Reckless, will chime in.
I second Vyper's recommendation to run up the James past the ghost ships to Chippokes State Park. It is the half way point to Richmond where we usually hook up with the RPBA.

Bill/Macklin/Viper - I figured that I would hear from you guys. Since we're coming in from the Rappahannock, and continuing on to NC through the ICW, we're (the Admiral at least) probably not too keen to do any long runs. The James River trip sounds neat, but a bit far. Besides, Ive seen the RPBA group party at the Miami Show, and they scare me.
We've been as far as Smithfield station in a 1999 Poker Run. The beach trip sounds nice, and Broad Bay and Waterside in Norfolk are always easy.
Since we haven't been down the ICW before, an "escort" on our way out of town Monday morning would be cool. Blake - what mile marker are you near? Maybe we can all stop by and show your parents what kind of people you're hanging out with on this board. Or maybe not.....

C Spray I'm sure you're probably familiar with the inlets and waterside restaurants available without getting too far off the beaten path including Rudee Inlet down the main oceanfront.
As the fella's mentioned above Saturday will be most likely a good run somewhere either up the James across from Jamestown Island (Chippokes shoreline, aka Cobham Bay) for a raftup with some Richmond folks since the waters are warming nicely thanks to the heatwave. Sunday or Monday could possibly be Sunset Beach tiki-bar near the northwestern section of the Chesbay tunnel or somewhere for lunch. Personally I have a party to attend Sunday at 4pm-until? I'm sure BillR will be readily available. Stay away from Vyper340...
Also there's Waterside, and heading down the intracoastal there's the infamous "Cove" about a 1/4 mile down the Dismal Swamp canal adjacent to the I-64 high rise bridge where you can hang a bit just before you head to the first set of locks. Right at the locks turn left and you'll end up at a very nice restaurant called "Ho-dads" for a bite and further down the canal you'll come across Captain Georges Seafood restaurant/Marina just prior to hitting the sound. Coinjock further down is another good place to eat/rest as well.
As far as the Miami gig, it was mostly the HRPA in town with Cignificant (RPBA) and I holding court at the Clevelander in the evenings. What's your ETA Saturday? I think your friend lived or used to, just up the canal from my house across from Marina Shores. Anyway, have a safe trip down good luck with your hunt...
