We had a guy in a tank that was stolen from a National Gaurd armory do a similar thing here in San Diego about 10 years ago. A Police Officer that happened to be a tanker in the Army Reserves breached the hatch and shot the guy,killing him.
The tank caused alot of damage before it was stopped though.
