Anyone have experience with the new Merc 1075's yet?
I checked the forums for my answer first, but didn't quite see it there. Does anyone have any personal experience with the New Merc 1075's yet? Other than the purchase price, does anyone here either have them or know someone who does? I saw the mention of the new 51' OL with the package. The owner may not have had them quite long enough yet for the feedback I'm looking for.
Specifically, there was a Tiger in the in-water portion of the Miami show this year with the 1075's. Does anyone know this boat, or the owner? I had heard that this person was able to get over 100 hours on the engines before having to do a rebuild. Does anyone know if this is true, or just a rumor? If its true, I'd love to know about it. I know the purchase is suppose to include a 50 hour service, but I was hope to get some insight on any experiences past that point.
Your help and opinions are appreciated!

Hey BCC!!!!
How goes it?
If your still in Cali, I would go with some proven Pfaff engines over the Merc's. I'm not badmouthing Mercury at all, they are just new technology and we all know that there might be a bug or two that will have to be worked out!! That's alot of $$$ to be a Guinea pig!! Just my .02

Hi Craig! Thanks for the response. Actually, I'm still out in New York, I just never changed the location on OSO. My bad! I love the Pfaff products too (from my experience). They sure make a nice product. However, Pfaff is just not in the backyard of Long Island. We hope to pay Pfaff a visit when we are out in Cali in about 6 weeks.
So, I'm looking for some specifics on the 1075. Oh, and things are just peachy keen......thanks for asking!

BCC,
I think the boat you are refering too is "American Muscle" a Rough Rider 46 that is currently used by the factory for promotion.
A lot of test and articles written about it.
My humble opinion.
You in NYC for the run?

Yep! That's the boat. Wow, I was way off saying it was a tiger. I must be getting alzheimer's. Sorry. Darn, not sure if I'm going to get the feedback I'm looking for if its factory owned. Hmmm, and you're right about Richie Zul being on Long Island. Just looking for a little different way to "skin the cat". That's all.
Yes, we'll be at the NYC run this weekend. Hopefully with the OL. You know, last minute tinkering and all. Looks to be an interesting weekend....

If I remember correctly, and right now that's a BIG if, I believe that American Muscle (what a gorgous gorgous boat) blew a tranny at the PRA event in Sarasota a short while back.
I just loved that boat.
The factory rep told me how much would put it in my driveway. Unfortunately, I was just a little shy of the required amount.
