F350 Tow Mirrors - How to replace lower mirror?
I just smashed the lower mirror on my 02 F350, the upper larger mirror is just fine. Has anyone ever replaced just the mirror? Does the entire assembly have to be replaced? I don't see anything visible that I can remove. What a way to start the day!

You can only replace the lower mirror if your truck has telescoping mirrors. If you don't then you have to buy the whole mirror assembly

It does have the telescoping mirrors. Any idea of how the lower mirror pulls out? Is it screwed in there, glued, snapped?

I want to say snapped. Try to pry lightly on one side or the other. It might be held in by little ribbed arms. Let me know.

I'll have to stop by a dealer parts department next week and see what the replacement looks like. I'll post findings. Thanks!

The casing doesn't come apart, pull on the mirror, it'll come out. watch your eyes if shatters.

The mirror just pops out, it's held in by 3 ball type connections. I just used a screwdriver and cloth so not to scratch the black plastic casing. The already broken mirror did break out all over before I could get the broken mirror backing removed. Found the new part on Fordparts.com for 22 bucks.
