Who is running the new Five bladed Mercury props????
I am still looking to replace my Bravo 1's.....I have been recently informed that if I run anything but a Mercury prop ...and I have a problem with a drive....that Merc may refuse to cover it under warranty.......not good......especially after spending 4k on a set of Herings.....so.....what about these new five bladed Mercury propellers???? Anyone with some feedback?????

Whoever told you that is pulling your leg or seriously misinformed!! You need to try the Hydromotive P5X's on your boat. This is no BS real world testing done with throttleup and the results were nothing short of amazing......

Well tell Bud that mercury "may" refuse to honor their warranty which could mean that I "may" sue them and make them spend $20k and fix your drive too!!!

I've never heard of this BS either...Rich, did you get any warranty papers regarding the Merc drives when you purchased the boat?

NOT GETING INTO THE LEGAL STUFF WITH YOU GUYS BUT I CAN TELL YOU THE NEW OWNERSHIP AT MOTION POWERBOATS HAS A NEW COMPANY BOAT THEY HAVE RIGGED WITH 525S AND THEY HAVE RUN THE 5 BLADES WITH SOME GOOD SPEEDS IN THEIR 35 TO THE TUNE OF 119 WITH OUT OF THE BOX POWER BUT I CAN ALSO TELL YOU THEY HAVE ALSO BLOWN THE DRIVES YES BOTH ONCE IF NOT TWICE . THE PERFORMANCE HAS BEEN THE BEST WITH THOSE 5 BLADE FOR THEM. WE TESTED ONE ON MYPANTERA28 AND THE RESULTS WERE NOT AS POSSITIVE.LAZ MESA WWW.MESABALANCING.COM

Back to the original question... I read in this months P.B. about the Maximus 5 blades... Seems they can possibly lower prop slip by a ton and could overall be as fast or faster than a 4 blade, with better cruise speeds...
Hydro's tend to be stern lifters, while bravo's are bow lifters,, what are the characteristics of the maximus ??
