Same for me just moved in to burnt store marina since May just starting to get some wind . But did get 18 holes in by11am this morning ready to ride out my first big blow!!

Bear, you are just about in the center of land fall. It is turning east quickly. Don't stay there. I know that area very well, it is as flat as a pancake! Surges of 18 feet could devastate up to 1-2 miles inland. Punta Gorda airport is only 25 feet above sea level.

Two hours till landfall. The weather channel just said 18 foot storm surge. Its time to forget about material things and worry about keeping safe. Good luck!

Best of luck Express!!!! My parents live in Port Charlotte and are staying with me currently in NY. My father and mother are sick about their home and what they maybe coming home too. My father is President of their development (Riverwood)and disaster team, he and has been on the phone for the last 24 hours. It doesn't look good.......

I've got 2 freinds doing a job down there this week. They are staying in a hotel in port charlotte I believe. Apperantly the hotel wouldn't transfer them out, All they told these guys was to fill the bathtub with water.

Best of luck and stay safe. Just bought a place of Bonita Beach Rd. in the Marbella development. Been through this crap with Hugo and had 2ft of sand on the first floor.

My wife (Sandi) has finally heard from her parents who were in Nokomis on Bayshore. She hadn't been able to get ahold of them, but they called about an hour ago from Sebring (still not the best location) but better than where they were.
