Most chicks dont know the difference between a Bayliner and any powerboat! So why are we spending all this money? Its all about the chicks right?

Do I want a Bayliner or the Arneson? I think Bayliner I hate those big annoying roostertails.

OK, Laugh all you want. But I had a Bayliner trophy model 2002 with a 175 Merc. on it. It was my 2nd boat and I was like 18 years old. I bought it used and ran the piss out of it. I never had one problem with anything on the boat. I ran it in the Chesapeake all the time. I may have had an unusually good experience but, all I can say is what I truly experienced. I had a Baja 272 after that with a 502. I had a rather good experience with that boat also.
Ough yeah, I have been on many other high dollar offshore boats. So I have experienced them all.

Re: Bayliner...Whats in a name?
Well, I own one!! Here's how...
My toy is a Donzi 22ZX with an HP500 carb.
The wife and kids really wanted something to ski and wakeboard behind. Humm, problem. The Donzi's minimum planing speed is 30mph, and it just doesn't work for skiing...
What to do? They won't leave me alone.. Sell the Donzi and get a ski boat???? NO WAY!!
So, I went shopping. New ski boats are BIG bucks. Rather than spend the 30-40k on a stupid ski boat, I could go bigger with my toy!!
I stopped in a Bayliner dealer, and humm, cute little 18 foot boat sitting there with a wakeboard rack..Salesguy said 10k with a 2k rack!! Brand NEW last year's model! How will this thing run?
They took me for a test ride. The thing planed out instantly, is on plane at 12-15mph, and tops out at 45 (speedo). Pretty good!!
I bought it.
The wife and kids love the Bayliner! It pulls my wife up easily on a slalom, stays at 32 well even in the turns, pulls a wakeboard or kneeboard down to 12. We've had the Bayliner for a year now, with zero problems.
So, the family is happy, and so am I! I still have the Donzi!!!

Re: Bayliner...Whats in a name?
OK,I give I, owned a 24' Bayliner Cobra Offshore ,I was just out of High School this boat was red and white and looked like a Hot offshore boat well at least in Iowa in the 80's this boat was sleek and ran 61 mph had the merc,260 hp 350 Chevy with a alpha one drive .JT500 REMEMBERS THIS BOAT AS WE USED TO RUN AROUND QUITE A BIT IN THE GOOD OLE DAYS.
wished someone had a picture of this boat ,I don't think they made all that many, it was a great boat ,super light and fast for that size, with a full cuddy sink and a little sink bar,the dash was full of guages and had trim tabs to boot ,I paid 24,000.in 84 and the boat was built in 82 ,I have searched all over and can't find and pictures of this boat. But then came what we called the Clone Bayliners, all blue and grey 18 ft and all over the damm lake.they were a dime a dozen, with every idiot and there brother owning one.
This was the poor mans Offshore Power Boat.
