Re: Best CC perfomance boat?
I owned a 33 powerplay sport fish with twin 225 mercs. It was great boat. More sport than fish. But you could fish if you wanted to. Cruse at 40, top out around 55. Plenty of room in the cuddy, it had a rear bench seat. You could jump waves and not worry about the hull. I live in Naples and used it for trips to Marco, key west and up to cabage key, etc..
Quality product. If not for the boat I own now, I'd buy another one.

Re: Best CC perfomance boat?
Cobra makes a CC in 30 and 36 foot.
A friend of mine has a 30 with 2 225 mercs on it and it runs low 80's
Another friend has a 36 with triple 300X's and its in the low to mid 90's
Saw a 1999 30 foot in the trader for $ 49,000
They are pretty reasonable used and I don't think you'll find a faster CC
Ride is real nice too.

Re: Best CC perfomance boat?
FYI Guys...
I just took a new job...Working for Evinrude now.
BRP Just released their E-TEC V6 200-250HP engines.
These engines blew my mind...
Not only are they strong and actually make their claimed HP, but they are fuel effieient. (44% better at less than 2,000, 35% better at WOT than Merc Virado)
They give you a 3 year non declining warranty, and NO MAINTENANCE for 300 hours!!!
The oiling system resembles a Dry Sump race engine.
Stratified combustion..
I was a merc believer until I started running these ETecs..
Give me a call any time. 262-385-4525.
The COncept gives you a good fast hull at a good price.
Look at a Venture or Deep Impact if he has some $$ to spend.
The Dakota is a good buy as well. The 36 nees a pair of 250s at bare minimum.

Re: Best CC perfomance boat?
when you say "Blowing up" is it a lean condition where the piston is burning down, a crank braking, conncecting rod braking, piston rings catching the exhaust port? Blowing up is a very generic term, please give us some examples. Also if you ran 92 octane fuel would this take care of the problem?
