If you do not want it to skip the best bet is the sony music sticks. You can run your boat as hard as you want with them and you will NEVER get a skip. No moving parts.....

I've got an iPod running thru my Alpine head unit. Love it. Had to buy the adapter from Alpine for $80, but I no longer have CD's all over my truck.
