Who does their own taxes? If you do your own taxes, what software (if any
) do you use?
I've been seeing "Turbo Tax" ads all over the place. With software programs like that, it doesn't seem to make sense to pay someone $300-500 to do your taxes!
No offense to all you accountants out there!

I've used Turbo Tax for several years and had great luck. It might depend on your situation though on which software works best for you. Since both my wife and I are employed by a business rather than self employed, and we pretty much have the standard write off and stock investment stuff that lots of folks have, Turbo Tax is fine.
Can't speak to how well it would work if you are self employed or have other circumstances.

I use Turbo Tax online, and then usually try another one (Tax Act) online as well just to see how they compare. They are usually with in $100 of each other. I have no idea how they come up with different #'s but I enter the same amounts on both programs, and they somehow come up a little differently. Turbo tax is the easiest to use IMO.

I used Tax Cut last year after always using Turbo Tax. TT last year included some spyware that would load onto your PC, so I tried the other. I'm going to stick Tax Cut this year.
