Re: Lake Lanier
Tonto, It sure could have been Kent, that sounds familiar . He was an older guy and super helpful to us "tourist". We really had a great time playing on the lake and the place we stayed was super cool. Log cabin, wrap around porch etc. We definitely want to return soon...well after th ice melts. :-) I wanna see the cove and see how crazy it is. We have gasprilla (sp?) here.......that is stupid crazy and I have never been by boat. Maybe in a rental boat.

Lake Lanier is a good, fun lake. You can stay on the south end of the lake and have fun at "cocktail cove" or go north and have a tranquill experience.
There are only a couple of places to go on the lake, but not many, so, we usually end up making a party at someone's house, or having a raft up somewhere on the lake. Cocktail Cove is a fun place to hang out, but there is a much larger area of the lake to explore.
On the poker run, we should go ALL the way up the lake to the rowing venue to give everyone a real view of the whole lake. Then come back south and go for the Grilled Grouper at "UP THE CREEK"

Re: Lake Lanier
Looking at July 16 as Poker Run date.
Robert I need your help in outlining some course checkpoints. I definately want the rowing venue to be one to give the faster boats some distance.

Re: Lake Lanier
Hey Guys.....July 16th sounds Great.....
Stu is coming back and doing his Poker Run Aug 12 - 14
The other Marinas and I are working on breaking that Raft Up record out west...we'll need everyone for that.....we are going to do it on National Marina Day which is August 13th, the same day as Stu's run so his people can participate as well if they want...
We'll need every boat we can get to break that record.......
