oh yeah! free machine work
after confronting steve the owner of godwin singer machine about the hack job to my parts, over honing my new block to the point i now have to go .030 and am stuck with a set of 4.500 blower pistons and rings. it looks like a blacksmith worked on my cranks. steve has offered to do my machine work for free in the future to make a menz...now hows that go? screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me...can this rocket scientist really think i would ever take another part to his shop or refer anyone i know for that matter. what a great offer to hack up my next engine for free instead of paying 3500.00 sounds to good to be true...see there is a god. on a lighter note mark at mer has sorted everything out and is working on my motors now.

Re: oh yeah! free machine work
I was burned on a bad valve job years ago... they guy offered to re-do the job if I wanted to buy new valves, seats, and guides. I mentioned that I couldn't afford to buy all new parts three times.... He scratched his head and said... " you will only have to purchase them twice"... I said... " No... three times if I let you do them again... You screwed up the first set... you aren't capable of doing the second set correctly... so I'd still have to buy a third set for someone else to do correctly... So why not just buy a second set and find someone competent?".......
