I have to be in Jax the week of 17-24 April. I was wondering if the Angle Aid Poker Run on 23 April is worth towing the boat down for? Cost is pretty cheap ($195.00), just not sure of how long a run it is.
It is advertised as the 8th Annual. Has anybody made this run in the past?
Thanks

I made the run last year. Had a blast. It's a small run, 30-40 boats, for a good cause. Last year's course run North on the St. Johns passed downtown Jacksonville and then back south again. Starts and ends at the Gun and Tackle club on Goody's creek. It will keep you busy all day.
I believe the Donzi guys are coming to town for this run as well. May see a lot of classics running around.

It is cheap. Well worth it. Wing contest at Fri night party Hooters and 2 local joints have tons of wings. I believe Coors threw down in a big way as a sponsor and its basically an open bar at Sat night party. Entry fee includes Fri dinner, Sat breakfast, Lunch, dinner and booze for 2. Over $60,000 in GIVEAWAYS door prizes, goodie bags and such. Part of the grand prize is an inflatable RIB with a merc O/B. Value $10,000. If you do not take possesion and donate it right back to AngelAid they will give you a receipt for a $10,000 charitabl donation right then. Convenient too, keep boats in water, shuttles to hotel, hotel is booked through AngelAid and is a tax write off as well. Yes there will be a bunch of Classics as well as some very nice go fasts from the Jax performance boat club. Will start in 2 waves, 1st is 26' and under second is 27' and up with a short time between. i'll try to answer any q's if you got any.

If I kept my boat at Beach Marine (Jax Beach area) how long would it take to get to the Poker Run Site by water.

We are riding on a friends boat this year who is a sponser, but I sent a check for $195.00 anyway to help the charity.
It is for a good cause, and the boating is great in Jacksonville.
See you guys down there!

I just checked my GPS charts and it's 35 miles from Beach Blvd @ the ICW roughly were the marina is I believe, to Goodbys creek. Nice ride. 3 no wake zones. 1 for wonderwood bridge (200 yds long or so) 1 where ICW and St Johns meet (half mile long) and the Downtown area (1/4 mile long or so). Other than that pretty wide open.
