Re: Insurance list of restricted boats
I feel sorry for anyone insured (or who attempted to be insured) by this compay.
This list makes NO sense.
MTI is not on the list.
Concept and HTM are restricted. As a comparison, Contender and Warlock are caution. HUH?
Hackercraft is restricted. They make classic style wooden runabouts- think antique ChrisCraft and GarWood.
Banana, Checkmate, Donzi, Nordic, Powerquest, Scarab, Sunsation, and HALLETT are caution. I'm getting really confused.
Who came up with this list? Is it a result of the number of claims each brand of boat has had? Because some cases don't match value of the boat and its performance level.
Brad.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to that list guys.......American Modern has NEVER insured boats that go over 70MPH, and the have been isuring boats for a while.
They never have insured HP boats, and they never will......

MTI is not on the list.
Probably because they are a fairly new boat company
Concept and HTM are restricted. As a comparison, Contender and Warlock are caution. HUH?
Concept and HTM only build cats, don't know about contender but Warlock builds cats, V's and even small family Jet boats
Hackercraft is restricted. They make classic style wooden runabouts- think antique ChrisCraft and GarWood.
They make classic style "performance" wooden runabouts
Banana, Checkmate, Donzi, Nordic, Powerquest, Scarab, Sunsation, and HALLETT are caution. I'm getting really confused.
This make sense as they don't want to automatically write a policy on these boats with out looking at power, owners history, etc.

Yes it is. Because some cases don't match value of the boat and its performance level.
