Re: Costs Drives and Motors
Are you looking at stock new style motors or stock past vintage motors? Blue motors? Doing the work yourself or having someone do it for you? Your answers will help others hone in on answering your question.

Re: Costs Drives and Motors
I should have been a little more clear also... when I ask about the motors.... New 502's will be at least half the cost of new 496's and blue motors will be a lot more than the 496's. Drives, gimbles, throttles, etc. will pretty much be a constant in the equation... Do you want all new equipment or engine take outs... etc... ???? Good Luck!

Re: Costs Drives and Motors
I would probably build my own motors but probably need rebuildable good cores. i am thinking in 600 hp range N/A.
I feel the bigest cost will be all the brackets and little things.
With 600 hp i know drives are going to cost more. Looked at a nice boat thats basically has an empty engine bay. All the non engine extras are there and look salvagable. Drives were totally coroded away. I feel drives gonna be the bigest cost.
Just wanted to get some ideas and see if i wanted to sink money and start like a 2 or 3 yr project.

If do it yourself, 2 Drives $2.5-3k each, 2 Tassems $2-2.5k each, 502s $5-8k each so.............Plus lots of work.
