I think he just wants individual control of the drives at the throttle insead of one switch for both so actually both sets of wires are probably in there and just need to be segregated from each other. That way he will still have trim limit at the throttles and trailer on the dash.
Actually there is four sets of switches for these drives
one double rocker for each drive
One twin switch now on the throttles for the drives
one 'trailer' switch on the helm to raise both drives
one 'trailer' switch on the transom to raise both drives
