HP500 merc/dart intake fitment?
Will a hp500 merc/dart intake physically fit a 454ci/420hp w/iron heads?
Has anyone ever flowed this intake to a 454ci 365/420hp head?
My goal is to use these intakes on a set of 800 cfm carbed 454ci motors built to @ 500-525hp via cams, pistons, head work and balanced crank assemblies.

The HP450 ( 454 based) used the
same dart intake as the HP500.
You should be able to get there from here

I have also read about installing "wedges" in the heads of normally aspirated high hp 454 motors high rise single plane intakes with Iron heads .
Can someone explain the purpose of "wedges"?

Jim V here on the board is the airflow guru that makes the wedges. Give him a call. My understanding is that they straighten the short side radius of the intake port and reduce the volume thereby increasing speed of the mixture. I think they are in the Great Lakes Caster race boat.
