I have limited mechanical knowlege outside of general maintenance, i.e. , plugs, oil, wiring, etc.
How do you know when a carberator is due for rebuilding?
After running the boat, when I shift from fwd to neut to rev, i have to shift, leave it in neutral for about 5 seconds to let the rpm's get back up a little and then go to reverse. Otherwise the rpm's will drop too low and the engine will stall. This can be a pain in the a$$ when docking on a windy day or with a lot of current. Any ideas?
btw, engine is a 5.7L 350 with an alpha
thanks!

No. It's the 260 model and the guy that owned it before me made a bunch of upgrades. New cam, holley carb, edelbrock intake?, and a few other things that he told me a year ago that I can't remember. He said its around 300hp now, I can get roughly 60mph out of it in my stinger 222.
