flushing my pachanga
I just bought a 1987 19ft. Sea Ray Pachanga, excellent shape. The boat has thru hull exhaust with waterboxes. Now not having flushed a boat in some years, I put the muff ears on the outdrive, turned the water on and noticed immediately the water was coming out the exhaust port and not the center of the prop. I thought that was weird so I shut her down, worried something was wrong. I finally relaized later that night that it was supposed to come out the exhaust ports on the back of my boat because "duh" thats where the exhaust is. BUT....... The water was only coming from ONE side of the exhaust, shouldnt the water be coming out both holes? Is this a problem?
Any help is appreciated.

Re: flushing my pachanga
it ussualy won't come out both sides until you fire it up, withoutthe engine running it is normal for it to flow from one side only. When you say waterboxes, what are you talking about ?

Re: flushing my pachanga
Pachangas use a Vernalift waterbox as a muffler. Basically a 3 gal water jug to muffle the exhaust.

Pachanga's never had the option to run an exhaust through the prop. They claim the mufflers offer no loss in HP. I sold mine on EBAY. You will notice there is no exhaust bellows
