Gary

I just rebuilt both my qjets this winter, you can get the rebuild kits at any speed shop, I bought mine at the local NAPA store for around $25 and it's the same as the marine kit you buy for $45. Plus their pretty easy to rebuild, I've never worked on a carb before and I managed to rebuild both of them and get them re-installed with no problems.

Talking Re: carb recommendation

Damn I think the magic smoke got out of the computer

Where the hell does this plug go

I hooked up my laptop to it and pac-man started

I thought the computer said the rev limiter was at 5000 RPM so why is the tach reading 12,500 RPM

The sticker on the bottom says Cummings Diesel

Good got the computer set up and now the injectors are plugged

OK new injectors installed but the computer doesn't see them

Good re-configured computer for new injectors now it cant find the fuel pump

Finally got the computer set up for the pump and injectors looks like she's gonna start.

Turned the key and the horn blows ****

What's this new code "DIAL 911"

Paragon

No kidding bolting on a 650 BG will get you nowhere. A SB needs to BREATH so you will need several new pieces to get full benefit of a new Bigger carb.

I have to agree with Gary on this one. Get the rebuild kit. The money you'll spend on a BG for a stock engine will be a waste. I'm running a Q-jet with a few simple mods, and some jetting on a 383 stroker with a cam, and heads, and it works beautifully. Just take your time with the rebuild, and make sure everything is clean. There are a few simple mods you can do like covering the lower well plugs with JB weld, and there's a great document on the web about tuning the Q-jet. Do a search on the web. You'll be surprised with all the info you'll find. Save your money for your next engine. Then buy the BG
