Default Adjusting Gaffrig Mechanical Indicators

Any good tips on adjusting indicators? My tab indicators are not even(maybe 1/4" off). They work but it just bugs me. The doesn't seem to be too much room for adjustment on the cable ends

Also my trim indicator seems to have some play in it. I can pull down on the cable at the the drive and I have about 1/2 inch of play.

You adjust them at tabs. There are threads and a lock nut for fine adjustment.
With a straight edge on the bottom of the boat make the tab level with the bottom of the boat. Pick a number to adjust them up both the same on the indicator gage and then mark the indicator gage. Use adjustment on cable at tabs to even up indicator on the dash.
Real easy!!!

As far as play, Most MFG's don't install the springs that keep tension on the indicator on the dash display. Livorsi sells springs for these and are easy to install. Takes the play right out.
Also Merc indicators have the same springs available. Look here for a breakdown of parts:

Thanks! You're right about the springs, I don't have them on mine.
