bravo shifting problem
New XR installed, shifts into forward perfectly but there's a hesitation, maybe 4-5 seconds after shifting to reverse, before the drive catches. Cable have been adjusted and re-adjusted, with the drive on and off. Any ideas?

Re: bravo shifting problem
Carm,
The way it works is the cable moves a lever that turns a shaft with cams on it that push the cone clutch into the gear. If it isnt pushed far enought in, then it will hesitate before it locks up. The oil film slides out and bang.. your in gear.
So if the cable is adjusted properly.. I would take a look inside the back cap... Now if it is under warranty. Let them do it..
One thing I do .. is to remove the cable that goes to the shifter and then shift the drive with just the bracket and the cable that goes to the drive. That splits things in half and you can figure out where the problem is..
If you have more?? send me an email..
hope this helps..
