I've been thinking about purchasing a Mercury EFI scan tool. Is there an aftermarket tool manufacturer that makes one or is the Mercury tool the best way to go? Where is a good place to get one? Better yet, anyone out there have one they no longer need?

I bought mine from RINDA Technologies (spelling??). They actually make the tool for mercruiser. They are about $400. Great investment! You can find them on the web or do a search on this board.

Get the Rinda Diacom software. The recording and data export is worth the extra $ ($580 compared to $400 for the handheld scan tool).

Well, thats not entirely true. You can use Diacom to reflash an ECM if you are a dealer and have proper authorization codes and data from the factory.
