You would have to identify which shift/throttle control you have. The neutral safety switch is in the control.

There are also sensors in newer Mercruiser engines that tell the ECM if the engine is in gear or in neutral, and reduce the rev limit when in neutral.

I don't know who made mine as they are unlike any I have ever seen. Extremely will built cast aluminum. But there is not a safety switch mounted in them at all. Luckily my engine does not have a computer to worry about but would like to mount a switch in the control box. I have had the entire box apart and there is no part numbers or make on anything. Although each part is numbered so it is easy to see which part goes where chronologically. They came out of a triple engine configuration and I converted them to be a single drive and throttle and it worked out nicely. Just don't know what they are.

Can you provide a picture of the handles? Maybe someone can identify them with a picture.

Great idea but if you have a bravo and have had a motor die with drive in gear and been unable to pull it out of gear without cranking it over you will not like the switch. I broke a shift cable once because of thie. I just pull my lanyard now.
