Oil is 15-50 Mobil-1
192 engine hrs.
525 efi Merc.
Oil changed every 25 hrs -I was told when I bought it at 164 hrs
I've changed it twice since I bought it with Mobil-1--15-50.
oil preasure droped to 20 lbs hot----28 cold. When we changed it
we put in 20-50 regular oil an the preasure is now back to normal.
Ran it on the hose at 2000-2500 rpms for 30 minutes stayed perfect !
Now what ?

So you have not owned the engine from new..it had 162 hours on it. My guess is you are taking very good care of it...and the guy before hit the sticks pretty hard and didn't use synthetic oil from the begining.

Are you in warranty or out?

Suggested having the engine(s) gone over by a mechanic.

That oil in there had a lot of silicon which can unto itself cause wear.

I really suggest changing to V-Twin or Amsoil Series 2000 and sending in a sample at 15-20 hours before getting overly concerned..

My take Lucky...

You mechanic allegedly put something OTHER than Mobil-1 in your engine....I would look into it and get a lawyer my friend if you have it in writing.

Every "virgin oil" has a fingerprint. Some companies enter the data in for development purposes. Most labs will not provide that to the general public due to liability.

Good luck..keep us posted.

Did you have the oil tested that came in the engines when you bought the boat or tested after you ran your change of 15/50 MBL1?
