Re: oil filter for 525 efi
the mercruiser number that is on it now is 35-16595q , When I have checked with the local baja dealer ship they have said the 525 efi takes a special filter and will have to be ordered. I called back to eliminator and they have said it will have to be shipped. I just thought it was a regular big block filter. Is it different because it is mounted upside down?

For the upside down filters they need to have the anti-syphon valves in them to keep the oil from draining out while sitting static. Otherwise you'll have dry starts. Basically high performnace types like the Fram "HP" series has this.
