I'm running an upgraded 502 efi at 500 hp. Is mobil 15w-50 gold cap not the greatest of oil for it anymore? Also ran the mobil filter last year. Should i go to something different?

Cloudmaster,

Please try Aerospace Lubricants, Inc. ProDrive Type III. It is a 15W-40 oil, that will give you far better protection than Mobil product 15W-50 Gold Cap.

Pricing is $9.95 per quart and $31.84 per gallon. Complete technical data is availble on our website. All of our oils are, of course, 100% PAO base stock, with a proprietary additive package. In general, you can go with a significantly less viscous oil, while maintaining the same level of protection.

I would encourage you to ask other forum members their opnion of our product line. Even though we do not have a huge presence in the marine market, I'm sure that some of the members have experience with Alisyn engine and gear oils.

I have supproting documentation that is in PDF format, but since I am a new forum member I cannot post it with my current clearance.

I would be pleased to follow-up with you if you email me at:

Best regards,
Jerry

20W-50 M-1 V-twin is much better as is Redline 20W-50.

Vandy who is a distributer said that Mobil is improving 15W-50 M-1 so we will have to wait and see what it is like when it arrives on market.

Some people may know Ali-Syn as packing and labeling Sidewinder Sprockets's chain lube.

Hydro I think you have an oil fetish... what would that be called? Thanks for the info. Oh yeah, what lube do you recommend for doing "the nasty?"

http://www.mobil1.com/USA-English/Mo...1_15W-50_.aspx

So we had Redcap 15W-50 Mobil-1 which was Group IV base and lots of ZDDP...a great product,

Then came M-1 15W-50 EP GoldCap in several formulations which had wear related problems as they went to a GRP III base...but didn't tell anyone...and tried to reformulate it and then gave up and is no longer making it.

Now we have Mobil-1 15W-50 Silver Cap. This has a high PAO Group IV base content with more than adequate levels of ZDDP for the hottest offshore rigs. Much improved VI.

Bottom line....USE IT...as it is great stuff.....a g a i n.
