Yes I am running an Aeromotive pump and by-pass regulator on my N.A. 540. This is the first season with the motor and fuel system. While I have had other problems getting everything sorted out, the fuel system has not given me any trouble at all. I have not changed a single thing on the fuel system since I put it all together over the winter. Their stuff more expensive than Holley or Mallory but worth it. No comparison to Holley parts at all. I consider it an insurance policy for the motor. We all know what happens if the motor leans out..

I'm also running Aeromotive, the black (marine) version of the A1000. I run the Aeromotive by-pass regulator, too (black one). These are solid pumps, I'm on my 2nd season with them. Was running Holley Blues, but fried too many. The key to making them live (any elect pump) is running a by-pass back to the tank. Keeps the pump from "dead-heading" and allows them to run cooler, lasting longer. Cooler fuel to the carbs also helps with performance. I cut my fuel tank inlet hose, and plumbed in a tee fitting to return back to the tank.

I have been running a holley black marine pump and a mallory fuel return log with built in regulator. http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...h.asp&N=400249

This setup will pump 5 gallons in 2 minutes 20 seconds as tested with a 5 gallon can at carb level. This is on a 509BBC making 580+hp.

If you check the specs fuel delivery on a dead head system is nowhere near the advertised rate.

Neat thing about this sytem is that carb can take as much as it wants and only excess pressure is bled off. My fuel pressure doesn't vary more than 1 psi from full tank to near empty, regardless of rpm.

Nope. Filler hoses, the 2 1/4" ones. I removed them from the boat, then cut thru with a sawsall. They have steel wire reinforcement in them, and sparcs are a bad thing around fuel tanks.

I used a tee fitting that has a 2 1/4" hose barb barrel, with a 1/2" hose barb fitting welded into the side. Two tanks, so I returned each motor back to it's own tank.

I also am running Aeromotives A-1000 pump and by-pass regulator. I drilled ( with a pneumatic drill )a hole in the top of the tank and installed a bulkhead fitting for the return line.
