Default v6 module ?s

I just got my boat together, the motors are hp500 efi long blocks with 420 mega blowers and 4-750holley--nickerson carbs with v6 modules.
when i set the total advance at 30 degrees and shut the motors off , it is hard to start- slow cranking.
what is the cure ? if i back up the timing it cranks right over
thanks for any help you can give
kevin

You might have to put the Merc starters on your engines. They turn over fine with the v6 modules.Check your grounds too.

I also think the starters could be the problem, I had a checkmate with a 400 cyclone series 454 with a blower and the v-6 module, merc starter turned it over fine for many years, I believe the V-6 only has 16 degrees advance buit in so your base timing should be around 14 to 15 BTDC requires more torque to crank, V8 module has 24 degrees built in base timing much lower. but wrong for a blower
