Default Merc. Scan tool code "Oil Level Lamp"

What sensor is this on the scan tool? When it trips the alarm and goes from off to on then off after alarm

Kilroy,
I was hoping someone else would jump in here with some ideas. I don't know how/why you would get this code. I did find a Mercruiser Service Bulletin that says a low gear lube monitor will trigger a General Warning 1 and low oil pressure will trigger a Low Oil Pressure code.

Inboard models will have a Trans Overtemp Switch that will trigger a General Warning 2. But no mention of RPM reduction for either code and no mention of Low Oil Level code even being possible for either a sterndrive or inboard model.

With engine running (no alarm),
Is the Low Oil Level Telltale ON ?
Is the Low Oil Pressure Telltale ON?
Is the General Warning 1 Telltale ON?
Is the General Warning 2 Telltale ON?
Is the Overheat Telltale ON?
Is the Low Voltage Telltale ON?
When getting the alarm, is the Warning Buzzer Output ON?
What is the Calibration Checksum? Is it FE28?
Are you able to intentionally produce any codes by grounding the oil pressure switch or gear lube monitor?

Sometimes loose or bad grounds will produce strange and unpredicable results. Might be a good idea to check/clean/tighten all main engine and ECM grounds.

Call me if I can be of any help.

Dave
