Marine Dominators

The largest Marine Dominator I am aware of is a 1050. I need a 1250. Is there an out of the box 1250 out there?
Does Nickerson address the throttle shaft sealing when they do a carb?
Anyone comfortable telling me what Nickerson charges to convert a Dominator to Marine use? How long do they need it?

I do my own Dominators and have them up to 1400 cfm with custom metering conversions and machined for screw in air bleeds in two and three circuit for marine use I don't know of anyone that has them out of the box their going to have to be custom you really need to contact the person you're going to buy them from to make certain you're going to get the right thing you need these are pricey pieces you don't want to be back and forward with one . I will not do one unless I tune the engine myself on the dyno. Good Luck Laz Mesa

Nickerson can do anything you want but like MESABALANCING said it's pricey. Dean re-worked my Deamon and it's dead on never had a carb like it before. I just called him gave him all the specs he wanted about my engine and he went to work from there. I'm sending it back this winter and have them tune it up so it will be on the money next summer. We only get a few weeks of boating and I don't want to be chasing the carb around like they are on another thread.

I agree with Laz!! the best way is to put them on a dyno and tune them, best money you can spend!! my 1271s were tuned on the dyno were able to tweek out 32ft lbs torque in the 4000 rpm range ( which is most of my running) best investment I made.

The dominators I have now are tuned on a dyno. I don't need more power actually but I don't want to loose any either. With just under 9 to 1 compression my big Fords make 872 horse at 6500 with 1 1250 dominator.
But here is the catch, It is not a "marine dominator" and I would like the sealed shafts and j-tubes. Any other improvements would be the icing on the cake.
BTW we adjusted the jet and air bleeds for power and by reading the plugs. As you can see, my air fuel ratio is too high and The BSFC is a lttle too efficient and I don't want to burn anything down.
I am not a Carb expert but can definitely do another dyno session.

I had Nickerson build me a dominator for my 540 n.a. I gave him all the specs he wanted. He sent me an 1180 Marine HP Dominator. Other than setting the idle, I never had to touch a thing. The dyno said the fuel curve was perfect. When running the boat, the plugs come out perfect. He even hit the power valve right on the nose. This motor idles like an EFI , never bogs. I was and still am impressed. Thanks to Dean and Brad..

Any experts have any input on the air fuel ratio or BFSC? My plugs had a nice tan patina on the porcelain. No white crust and definitely no fouling.
Laz I appreciated your advice on the reversion, You were nuts on. It is too bad I live 3300 miles away from you. Thanks again.
