Thanks Panther. That part # comes up as steel spline hub designed for low speed/work conditions. Im assuming like for diesels. Are you sure this is the correct one I want for high HP and high TQ in my 26' cat?
Thanks

If you look up the merc HP525 or any of the other HP motors, you should see the "A11" (stock is "A8") as an option.

They used to have shoulders, but now are standard bolts when ordered from Merc, threaded full.

Do they use washers now?

Are the old shouldered bolts still available?

I just put a new coupler on a Cigarette and the bolts had a shoulder on them, they came with the coupler.

Same here. I put one in my boat about a month ago and it had shoulders. One thing that I didn't like is they no longer put the thread locker on the bolts so I had to put some loctite on which took a little more time.

I'm running this coupler also on a hopped up 525sc. I was thinking the same thing about the bolts. The coupler comes with new ones.

I`m needing a coupler too and was also curious as to what is the best deal out there.
I found a stock, aluminum spline Merc coupler for $344.94 at www.mercruiserparts.com
List is $404, exactly what my local Merc dealer wants....

Anyone know of a better deal than $344 ???

Give a call to Marc Berman, he runs mercuiserparts.com. He knows about couplers, transmissions and drives.
