There is a 47' ? Aronow for sale with big diesels here in Milwaukee. He has ran Smoke on the Water few years back.

Beam is 12-13' and weighs 40,000 lbs runs 75.

Kind of like a Magnum except price...295k or offer.

Thanks for your replies. I will look into them. I think I am looking for the interior of a Sea Ray but the performance and offshore ability of a go fast. Safety and dependibility are the top criteria

If your looking for searay and performance.... four winns was making the excalibur which had the diesel option... it's a luxury performance hull made in 38 and 47' models. Boat is actually made for them by an Australian company. Four winns only sold the boat for a couple of years in early 2000's. Basically same boat that Wellcraft sold for years.... Company in Australia still makes them in different sizes under their name of Riviera. WWW.riviera.com.au Look at the 370 and 430 for example...

Fountain 48 and 38 Express Cruisers. Cruise all day long at 50mph and get good fuel milage 1.2 mpg (48') and 2.0 mpg (38'). They have a good forward stateroom and a smaller aft stateroom.

I spoke to the Fountain rep in my area today. He was a helpful chap and suggested the 38 Express Cruiser. I could load it up with Yanmars, watermaker, electronics, full warranties, cablemaster, generator, AC, Canvas, bow thruster and inverter for 325K. I will take the wife to see it this week. We are also considering the Sabreline 34/36 and an Albin for the Great Loop Trip to start in May 2006. I am going to keep a log of this process. I hope I do not bore everyone.
