We found the problem and it was in the cam but the cam did not break. The gear that is pressed on the end of it jus came off! Unfortunately this means that the motor has to come out though. After talking with Crane they say this is a very rare problem and they are going to take care of the warranty on the cam. Hope the guy that pressed this one on didn't do the other one too.

I had 2 crane cams break the gear off in the back.They had a bad run of cams.They made good on the cams but not the trip down to Marco island to fix it.

This is the reason I decided to use an Isky cam in my 540. Isky presses and pins the gear on the cam, while it seems that the others just press it on.,,.
