Yiu should defnitly put ome silicone in th keyway groove of the balancer, that's how it's suppost to be instaled but if you have gone as far as pulling the balancer I wouldn't reinstall it without replacing the seal while your in there, you have aredy done most of the work.

It's not much oil at all, nothing that's concerned me to this point. Almost looks like if someone took a swipe along the bilge area under the pulley with a spray paint can of oil.

I'll try the silicone first and see what happens as I haven't torn anything apart just yet...
