Default surgeing at WOT

this weekend took the boat for a spin it ran real good, but then i stoped to drift for a while and went to go again and at like 2500rpms trolling it just shut off. tried to refire it and it would just crank. i pumped the throttle and cranked it and it fired back up. but at WOT now it soundes funny and has kinda a little surge to it. but if you back off a little it stops. its also lost about 5-6 mph WOT. its also been real hard to start when cold lately. is it the fuel pump going bad?

p.s.the engine is a reman 7.4 330hp with 7hrs on it.

Is it EFI or a Carb??? Guessing carb here, pull the fuel line at the carb and check the filter/screen. Common problem with similar running problems.
