Anyone know how to winterize a SeaDoo Sportster?
I have a 96 Sportster that I have to get ready for winter storage.. Can any one help me out. I have had little luck finding the owners manual for less than $70.. There is supposidly a CD version of it.. I could use the pages that concern the winter lay up..
Thanks in advance..

Turn off fuel and run motor out of gas. Take water intake hose off going into motor and fill with antifreeze till you see it run out of bottom of boat. Pull spark plugs and spray in fogger oil. Change pump oil. Thats how I have always done it.

Hey thanks guys.. I made a mistake it is a Speedster.. two Rotax 85hp..
But I am thinking it would be the same for two motors?? What oil goes in the pump? And the fogger.. a SeaDoo item?
Thanks..

I might have a owners manual at the lake for your motors. If I do , you are welcome to it since I sold the seadoos.

Fuel stabilizer in the tank, run it a while to get some in the carb.
Dont like to run 2 cycle motors out of gas in the carb, so I dont turn the fuel off to run it dry.
Remove the line that supplies water from the pump to the motor. Pour about 1/2 gallon antifreeze into the water inlet line, while the motor is running. The manual states "running" to prevent antifreze from backing into the cylinders.
There's a rubber plug on the air intake silencer. Remove it and spray fogging oil in while the engine is running until it kills the engine.
Done.

I see hose fittings on the back of the boat.. When you guys say run the motor.. I assume I need water to it while it is running? If I hook the garden hose up, are there any valves that need to be opened?
Then when I poor in the antifreeze, as it is running.. do I shut the water off from the hose?
You have to hang upside down practically to get to anything in the engine compartment... I have not spent much time looking around in there.. not sure where the oil goes in for the pump. Are there an obvious drain and fill holes? GS, is the manual you might have for the Speedster or for a SeaDoo that uses the same motor. I will gladly take anything you want to send my way..
Thanks for all the help guys, I will try to take a close look tonite and see if i can figure out what your talking about..

thj water won't stay in the block what little is left its not enough to expand.for get the antifreeze just keep the flush end open for the winter.its an outboard head those and its just like an outboard.if you just want to clean the hoses out run it with salt free soulution. westmarine or boat us
