I just returned from SEMA. Almost no boats as opposed to last year.
Disappointing. I was looking for help on my HP525 from the blower folks there. I'm still not convinced that anyone has this motor figured out blower-wise other than XWhipple. Procharger (absent), Magnuson, Vortec, nobody seems to have a turn key set up for the HP525.
I am considering selling the 2005 HP525 motor (49 hours) and installing a turnkey EFI blown or unblown 800HP motor. Several companies have something like this, but who do you trust? I want pump gas, reliability, under hatch installation, and smooth operation. Teague is $42000. Not reasonable in my opinion. Who are the best alternatives? (The boat is a new Laveycraft 27 cat w/XR drive.) Thanks for the help. Quent

I believe the Whipple kit for the 525 was $10,000.00 when it was available.
The $15,000.00 figure is based on the system and accessories as displayed in Key West with upgraded polish and fittings. The system also includes a new computer and a larger heat exchanger for the closed cooling system.

I was just wondering if there is a horsepower level out there that can make a guy happy.
I just have a 496ho and would love to go up a few hundred hp. Do the guys that have the 1400-1500 hp Sterlings sit around and try to figure out how to get more out of them.
