However, you are right many v-hulls work well with ASDs...but some hulls it might not be a good match if alot of bow lift is needed.

If I was rigging from new I'd go with the #6's one time. You wont be worried about breaking it every time you go out. You'll probably save money in the long run from all the repairs and you will have better resale value for sure than you will with an aftermarket drive. If you're worried about scrubbing a couple of miles an hour than stick your motor in a tiny v-drive and haul a$$.................
