Every Eagle crank I ever used needed .001 over mains, the rods came in ok but checking is the key. Never used th Scat stuff but what I like is they make a Ext bal crank that allows to save a bunch of redundent parts that dont add any power.

I like to hear what other people are doing that works, any combos you like please post. Seems everybody in this area is into big blowers, and buying lots of drives, It would be good to get some fresh ideas, thats what got me working on this. Finding the cheapest, hopefully realible combo.

Kaama, glad to hear you got all things working good.

Eagle is what most people use around here, They seem to hang even with big blowers and lots of boost. I like the JE pistons better, but found that if you loosen up the SRP, add at least .0015-.002 extra clearance, get the pins up to .001, they seem to hang as well.

I don't know how Dynoflow does it . All the blocks come from Dart need alot of machine work, Try buying the parts and assembling it it would cost double. It cost me a fortune to buy a GM Bowtie block, have it align honed, decked, bored .250, clearanced for stroker, and have the mains, and oil passages drilled for better flow. And then buy a crank , rods, pistons, etc. and have balanced etc. Just for a short block. Would have been way better off With a Dart block. It would have cost me less. The Dynoflow short block costs about half of what mine cost. Never ran motor, But it is in the 650-675 horse range, with dart heads... If you go with the eagle rods, specify the L 19 bolts..... BBB

Merlin makes a tall deck intake with a bronze passage. It is similar to the Dart victor. You can get one from Summit
part # WRL-63043 only $314.95 . I've bought a few they are real nice pieces, and the flanges and everything else checked out square. Dar't dropped the ball on this one by not offering a true marine manifold.

Glad someone else had the same issue. When my Eagle cranks came in, the engine builder mic'd them and sent them back. He was sure if they couldn't get them any closer than that, there may be something else wrong. We bought Callie's.

Has anyone else had issues with Dart Iron Eagles? One of mine cracked in half and Dart replaced all four with Pro1 aluminum castings. They said it was a problem with some of the earlier iron castings in the marine environment and colder water. Still cost me 1/2 season and almost $10,000 with one puked engine and the other engine head swap. Only had 12 hours on the engines at the time.

My oil temps are about 180* with this set-up. The cooler is Hardins 620-550 with their thermistatic head. All lines are -12 AN

Lee from LAB engine discovered that the bronze inserts don't completely cover the water passages. He showed me the intake and where the aluminum was starting to corrode !

That probably would not be the case if dart was making them ! BBB
