Default Thermostat housing

I just received my new stainless thermostat housings today and I see there are no provisions for the water temp sending unit and the over heat sending unit like on the orignal housing.
Where is the best location on the motor to relocate these units now?

Thanks Nordic95

depends on what motors you have but on most there are provisions in the water jacket cross over in the in take manifold where the therm housing bolts on to the left and or right

I have not ordered my intakes yet.I am having the motors built as we speak(type). Is it o.k. to mount these in the aluminum intake? Are there any other locations on the motor?I would like to clean up the look around the thermostat.

You can put the alarm in the side of the circ. pump.Should be a 1/2 pipe fitting just above Circ. pump large hose nipple. You'll have to use 1/2 x3/8 reduser and lenghten wire.Merc used to do that years ago.

I think that they work well as long as you use the bypass type and use the Mercruiser pressure releif valve. I like the looks and the improved access to the front of the motor.

Bypass wasn't installed in this picture
