Default Keith Eickert Valve Covers ?????

I am thinking of purchasing KE's (two piece) valve covers for my 502's. Anyone have any experience with this product? Any problems with oil leaks? Will they work with roller rockers? Seams like a great idea but I need to know if they really work.

Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dail

We had them on a pair of Eickert 1000's, nice pieces, very simple to adjust valves. They use a rubber O ring that seals the top to the base. They will leak a little with age, but you just replace the O ring seal. A lot of money for valve covers unless you are running solid lifters that require constant valve ajustment.

I have them on my 540. They look great, fit well, easy to take on and off , BUT they constantly leak. I replaced the 'O' rings, still leaked. I ended up putting a small bead of silicone around the bottom of the 'O' rings. Problem solved. I dont think they were worth the cost.

I run them on many of the engines we build from N/A to Suoercharged and have had very good luck with them. If you are running a wetsump supercharged application I would vent them to the bottom of the flame arrestor with #12 hose. Can be also done this way for drysump but will work fine with K&N breathers.

Thanks Guys, i Have heard that they have a problem with leaking. Are they tall enough for roller rocker arms to clear without being ground?

Thanks,
Dail

They will clear your rockers. I run jesels with no problem. I wouldn't be without them as I have a solid roller setup and the time savings to get at the rockers is substantial. I can have the valve cover off in 30 sec or so. Like Dean mentioned, vent the engine to the lame arrestor base with #12. You will like them .
