transom pickup or drive
putting in blown 557s was wondering will the pickups in the drive supply enough water or do i need transom pickups, adding innercoolers so i know i will need to add a pickup for those, just not wanting four pickups hangin off the back. ive been told both ways will work just asking what you guys think,.

Re: transom pickup or drive
use the pickup's from the drives to supply the intercoolers. use small intercooler strainer's in line of course. then use niceexternal adjustable pick up off the transom for the sea water system entering the engine. again using a strainer.

im going to run with the orig plan , motors off the drives, innercoolers from pickups w/strainers. my other motors were blown also but no innercooled, and less cubic inches

Why would you go that way ?more or less volume?
Thanks

lets say you have too much pressure because the boat is now going a few mph faster, with the adjustable pick up you can compensate. of course including factors such as dumps and water system capacity(single or dual stage pump, 1 1/4 hose, stariner capacity). to high raise the pickup.
also chances are with a transom mounted pick up for the intercooler you may make too much pressure and harm the intercooler itself.
i've tryed it both ways, and it does work both ways. but considering experience of the installer may not be on the professional level the above stated way is a LITTLE less likely to back fire.
just mt 2 cents . Bo.

I was told the PFM are good to 40psi and the Whipples is good to 100psi.
